Maria won against Wozniak !

Maria Kirilenko in Moscow

Maria won thursday in the round of 16 of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow against the Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak on the centre court. The score : 6-4, 6-3, in one hour and 31 minutes. In quarterfinal, Maria will play against Francesca Schiavone (ITA).

« I’m really happy about winning today and beating yet another strong player. I feel like my tennis is in the best shape right now, maybe even for the season. I love playing at home and hope to keep doing well this week. » said Maria after her match.

In doubles, Maria and Nadia Petrova won in quartefirnal against Arina Rodionova (RUS) and Olga Savchuk (UKR). The score : 1-6, 7-5, 11-9 in one hour and 34 minutes. The semifinal will be against Alona Bondarenko (UKR) and Galina Voskoboeva (KAZ).

Maria won against Savchuk (twice) !

Maria won tuesday in the first round of the Generali Ladies Linz against the Ukrainian Olga Savchuk in one hour and 29 minutes. The score : 6-2, 7-5. In the second set, Savchuk was at 5-2 and finally lost 7-5. 

In the next round, Maria will play against the French Alizé Cornet. In the head to head, Cornet won the only match in 2007 in Wimbledon (6-4, 6-4).

In the doubles tournament, Maria and the Italian Flavia Pennetta won against the duet Olga Savchuk (again) and Kathrin Woerle (GER) in one hour and nine minutes. The score : 6-1, 3-6, 12-10.

Next round, probably against… Cara Black (ZIM) and Liezel Huber (USA).
