Maria has been handed a wild card for the upcoming Tournament of Champions, which will start in 30th of October. The tournament, which has 750 000 dollars prize money, will be played at sports hall Arena Armeec in Sofia.

So glad to hear this news! Maria really deserved the WC for the work she has put in this season. Maria’s next tournament is the Kremlin Cup, and she would dearly love to win her home town tournament. It would be wonderful if she could win
the Tournament of Champions, but I doubt if that would mean more to her than her Olympic Bronze medal.
