Great R1 win. I’ve have seen live one of your matches against JZ at RG a few years ago. Evenly matched it was then. This scoreline looks the same . But Maria has triumphed. Well done to continue your good form of last week.
Well, Maria, continue to play well with Sabine in doubles. You can fully concentrate on this aspect of the tournament now you are out of the singles event. It has always been a great battle with Sveta, you fought hard, in both sets, a solid effort for sure.
Great win in R2 for Maria. Not too sure if she has ever played SK in the past, but she is a top player on her day. Maria’s excellent form continues.
Maria has played SK a few times winning in the French Open in the 3rd round a few years ago, when Sveta was ranked sixth and Maria 30th. Maria lost more recently to her in the US Open. But Sveta when she is on can be very tough great ground strokes and moves reasonably well. Maria gave it a good shot this time around losing 6-4, 6-4, Peter, so they do have some very competitive matches.

Oops! an apology from me. I completely misread the result of Maria’s match v SK. I thought Maria has won 6-4,6-4, not the other way round. A big thank you to Dave for the recent history of their matches. very helpful.
