- Semifinal : won against Sara Errani (ITA) / Roberta Vinci (ITA), 1-6, 6-3, 10-4
- Final : won against Andrea Hlavackova (CZE) / Lucie Hradecka (CZE), 6-1, 6-4

Nadia Petrova : « I’m very proud – I think we played very solid tennis today. We were calm and in control of the game from the beginning, and we didn’t lose momentum in the second set. Also, Maria was very brave, holding serve in the last game from two break points down. Our goal this season was just to play the Olympics and win a medal, and we achieved that, and now we’re here winning this title. It’s a great way to finish off the doubles season. We have had such a great year. »

Maria Kirilenko : « We felt we could dominate the game today – it sounds simple, but really it’s quite difficult. We’re happy to win another title together. It was so difficult to qualify for this tournament – we only did it last week in Moscow – so to be the last team in and win it is just great. We had a great tournament here and this is an amazing feeling. »

  9. You were in control of this final from the start. Great teamwork, Maria you said, when asked will you remain together next year with Nadia? Your reply was: “We will see.” Not the reaction I thought you would have say. Is it because Nadia is trying for American citizenship? Regardless, you had an amazing year in both singles and doubles. Good luck in Sofia as well and then have a good rest before the Australian Open.

  16. Wowee!! They won. What a great performance, from the very first point until the last. The perfect end to Maria’s best ever season. I watched the whole match live on Eurosport. Commentators agreed Maria was the star player. Anyone else who watch the match would agree with that. I was so excited. No doubt all of Maria’s 60,000 + fans will celebrate with her.
